Overview

The Lantronix NTC-551-01-01 is the North American variant of the NTC-550 Series ruggedized 5G Industrial IoT Gateway. It pairs a 3GPP Release 16 sub-6 GHz 5G modem (SA and NSA, with fallback to 4G LTE) with Wi-Fi 6, one 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port and four 1 Gbps LAN ports. A configurable RS232/RS422/RS485 serial port, GPIOs, ignition sensing and GNSS suit it to factories, utilities, surveillance and vehicles. Private 5G support includes CBRS band n48.

The Lantronix NTC-551-01-01 is the North America model of the NTC-550 Series, a rugged Industrial IoT Gateway built for smart factories, industrial automation, remote monitoring, security and surveillance, and in-vehicle connectivity. Its 3GPP Release 16 sub-6 GHz 5G modem supports Standalone and Non-Standalone operation, Dynamic 5G Slicing and fallback to 4G LTE, with peak speeds of up to 2.4 Gbps down and 900 Mbps up on 5G SA. The North American band set covers 17 5G NR bands, including n41, n71, n77 and CBRS n48 for private 5G networks, plus 20 LTE bands.

On the wired side it provides one 2.5 Gbps LAN/WAN port and four 1 Gbps LAN ports, alongside dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with 2x2 MU-MIMO and WPA3. Industrial interfaces include a configurable RS232/RS422/RS485 serial port, three configurable GPIOs, ignition sensing, USB-C and a microSD slot. Modbus TCP and RTU/ASCII gateway functions and a Data Stream Manager bridge serial equipment to IP networks.

All antennas attach through FAKRA connectors: four cellular, one active GPS and two Wi-Fi, giving secure, vibration-resistant, click-in connections. A metal IP41-rated enclosure operates from -30°C to +70°C and mounts on a wall in multiple orientations or on a DIN rail using the clips in the box. For vehicles, a low-power deep sleep mode draws less than 5 mA at 12 V.

Remote management is built in: Percepxion ready, with TR-069, LWM2M, SNMP v3, MQTT to Azure and AWS, Cumulocity support, SSH CLI, HTTPS web UI and SMS control. Routing features include VRRP, WAN failover across cellular, Ethernet and Wi-Fi client, VLANs, an IPS firewall, and IPSec (up to 5 tunnels), GRE and OpenVPN. Lantronix backs the NTC-550 Series with a 2-year warranty.
