Overview

The Lantronix NTC-552-01-01 is the EMEA and APAC (excluding Japan and China) variant of the NTC-550 Series ruggedized 5G Industrial IoT Gateway. It is built for international band plans rather than North American networks. A 3GPP Release 16 sub-6 GHz 5G modem with SA, NSA and fallback to 4G LTE is paired with Wi-Fi 6, one 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port, four 1 Gbps LAN ports, a multi-standard serial port, GPIOs, ignition sensing and GNSS.

The Lantronix NTC-552-01-01 is the NTC-550 Series Industrial IoT Gateway configured for EMEA and APAC markets, excluding Japan and China. Its band set, 5G NR n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n75, n76, n77, n78 and 13 LTE bands, targets networks outside North America. For US deployments, the North American model is the NTC-551-01-01.

The 3GPP Release 16 sub-6 GHz 5G modem supports Standalone and Non-Standalone operation and Dynamic 5G Slicing, with fallback to 4G LTE and peak speeds of up to 2.4 Gbps down and 900 Mbps up on 5G SA. Bands n77 and n78 support private 5G networks in industrial, energy and logistics settings. Wired connectivity includes one 2.5 Gbps LAN/WAN port and four 1 Gbps LAN ports, alongside dual-band Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MU-MIMO and WPA3.

For industrial and vehicle integration, the gateway provides a configurable RS232/RS422/RS485 serial port, three GPIOs, ignition sensing, USB-C, microSD, GPS and GLONASS, and Modbus TCP and RTU/ASCII gateway functions. All antennas connect through vibration-resistant FAKRA connectors: four cellular, one active GPS and two Wi-Fi. The IP41 metal enclosure operates from -30°C to +70°C and mounts on a wall or DIN rail, and a deep sleep mode draws less than 5 mA at 12 V.

Remote management covers Percepxion, TR-069, LWM2M, SNMP v3, MQTT to Azure and AWS, Cumulocity, SSH, HTTPS and SMS. Routing includes VRRP, multi-WAN failover, VLANs, an IPS firewall, and IPSec (up to 5 tunnels), GRE and OpenVPN. Lantronix publishes CE, UKCA and RCM declarations for the NTC-552 and backs the series with a 2-year warranty.
