The HPE Aruba Networking USB LTE Modem (R8F34A) adds plug-and-play LTE Cat 12 WAN connectivity to supported HPE Aruba Networking access points, SD-Branch gateways and EdgeConnect SD-WAN gateways. It delivers up to 480 Mbps download on LTE FDD and supports 3-carrier aggregation and multi-constellation GNSS. It accepts a micro or nano SIM and uses a swivel USB 2.0 connector. It works as a primary or backup uplink for small office/home office, branch and pop-up sites.

For enterprises running HPE Aruba Networking gear, the USB LTE Modem is the validated way to add cellular WAN without third-party compatibility testing or manual setup. Plug it into a supported access point or gateway and, in most carrier environments, it needs no configuration. You can use it as a primary uplink at pop-up and temporary locations or as a backup link that keeps a branch or home office online when the wired circuit drops.

The modem is LTE Cat 12, with maximum speeds of 480 Mbps down and 150 Mbps up on FDD, and 430/90 Mbps on TDD. It supports 2- and 3-carrier downlink aggregation. Band support covers LTE FDD B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B9/B12/B13/B14/B17/B18/B19/B20/B21/B25/B26/B28/B29/B30/B32/B66, LTE TDD B38/B39/B40/B41 and WCDMA fallback, for use with nearly all major carriers worldwide. It carries AT&T and Verizon carrier certification and PTCRB. Two internal antennas handle main and diversity reception, and the diversity antenna also serves GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS.

The USB 2.0 connector swivels 270 degrees on one axis and 90 degrees on the other, so the modem can stay vertical on differently oriented devices. A single two-color LED shows green when a cellular link is up and orange when the modem is powered without a link. The SIM door ships with a T6 Torx screw for added security. Where signal at the AP is weak, the optional R8G76A USB Extender Cable Kit (sold separately) adds a 5 m cable and a wall-mount cradle.

The modem measures 100 x 50 x 20 mm, weighs 78 g, draws 3.5 W maximum over USB, and operates from 0 to 40 °C. It is managed through HPE Aruba Networking Central, Orchestrator or legacy management software, depending on the platform. A data sheet and installation guide are available. Hardware warranty is 1 year parts and labor.
