About This Device
The RUTM50 is the North American counterpart to Teltonika's mainstream 5G router class: not a compact gap-filler and not a dual-modem flagship, but the balanced unit most 5G sites actually need. The 5G radio provides current-generation bandwidth with graceful degradation — backward compatibility with 4G LTE at Cat 19/18 keeps throughput strong even where 5G coverage lapses — and dual SIM slots with automatic failover protect the site against any single carrier's outage.
The wired side distinguishes it from lighter 5G gateways. Five Gigabit Ethernet ports mean a small site's switch requirements often disappear into the router: a POS system, cameras, an access point, and local servers connect directly at gigabit speeds, with the port roles configurable between WAN and LAN duty. Wi-Fi (802.11ac) covers local wireless clients, and wired-WAN failover lets the RUTM50 arbitrate between an existing circuit and its cellular paths.
The software is Teltonika's full industrial stack. RutOS supplies the integrated firewall, extensive VPN support, and granular routing policy; Teltonika RMS provides fleet-scale configuration, monitoring, and firmware management. For organizations already running RUT-series LTE estates, the RUTM50 is the natural 5G step within the same operational model.
Deploy it as branch primary WAN with wired-circuit failover, as the connectivity core of industrial and retail sites with several wired devices, and as the standard 5G unit in integrator builds that need real port density.
