Overview

The Teltonika RUTM54 is a dual-SIM and eSIM 5G router built around a US-made Telit modem. It delivers 5G SA/NSA download speeds of up to 3.4 Gbps and falls back to LTE Cat 19. Five Gigabit Ethernet ports, dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and automatic failover across mobile, wired and Wi-Fi WAN make it suited to data-intensive branch, industrial and remote sites. This order code (RUTM54000000) is the global hardware version in the standard package with a US power supply.

The Teltonika RUTM54 is a high-performance 5G router for IT and operations teams that need fast primary or backup cellular connectivity. Inside is a US-made Telit 5G Sub-6 GHz module (3GPP Release 16) that supports both SA and NSA 5G. It reaches 2.5/3.4 Gbps downlink with 4x4 MIMO and 900/550 Mbps uplink. On LTE it falls back to Cat 19 at up to 1.6 Gbps down and Cat 18 at 211 Mbps up. The global hardware version covers a broad set of 5G NR, LTE and 3G bands, including n41, n71 and n77 alongside B2, B4, B12, B13, B14, B66 and B71.

For resilience, the router has two Mini SIM slots and a consumer-type eSIM that holds up to 7 profiles. SIM switching can be triggered by weak signal, data limits, roaming, no network or a failed data connection. Network backup can also fail over between mobile, wired WAN, Wi-Fi WAN and VRRP, and load balancing spreads traffic across multiple WANs. The wired side has 1 Gigabit WAN and 4 Gigabit LAN ports. Dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi supports up to 150 users, with mesh and fast roaming.

The hardware operates from -40 °C to 75 °C and accepts 9-50 VDC or passive PoE. It has one digital input and one digital output for site automation.

The standard package includes an 18 W US power supply and four swivel mobile antennas. It also includes two magnetic Wi-Fi antennas, a GNSS antenna, an Ethernet cable and a SIM adapter kit.

Does the RUTM54 support both 5G SA and NSA networks?

Yes. The Telit 5G Sub-6 GHz module supports both standalone and non-standalone 5G, with 2.5/3.4 Gbps downlink using 4x4 MIMO. It falls back to LTE Cat 19 (1.6 Gbps down) and 3G.

How does the eSIM work, and does it include a data plan?

The RUTM54 has a consumer-type eSIM that supports profile download and removal and stores up to 7 profiles. No data plan is included. The eSIM sits alongside two physical Mini SIM (2FF) slots.

What is included with order code RUTM54000000?

This is the global hardware version in the standard package with a US power supply. The box contains the router, an 18 W PSU, four swivel mobile antennas and two magnetic Wi-Fi antennas. It also includes an adhesive GNSS antenna, a 1.5 m Ethernet cable, a SIM adapter kit and a Quick Start Guide.

Can the RUTM54 be powered over Ethernet?

It accepts passive PoE on the LAN1 port (Mode B, 9-50 VDC). This passive PoE input is not compatible with the IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at or 802.3bt standards. It can also run from 9-50 VDC through its 4-pin industrial power connector.

Can I manage a fleet of RUTM54 routers remotely?

Yes. The router supports Teltonika RMS, TR-069, SNMP v1/v2/v3, a JSON-RPC API, SSH and over-the-air firmware updates. It also integrates with Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, ThingWorx and Cumulocity.
