Overview

The Cradlepoint IBR1700 is a ruggedized Gigabit-class LTE router for vehicles and field forces. This bundle includes a 5-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials + Advanced subscription, and the SKU is TAA compliant for U.S. Federal Government ordering. Its embedded Cat 18 modem reaches up to 1.2 Gbps down with 4x4 MIMO. The router adds five Gigabit Ethernet ports, tri-radio Wi-Fi 5, discrete GPS with dead reckoning, an RS-232 serial port and an MC400 slot for a second modem. This configuration ships without an AC power supply or antennas.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint IBR1700 is a Gigabit-class LTE networking platform for persistent in-vehicle connectivity. Part number TAA-MAA5-1700120B-NA pairs the Cat 18 1200M-B hardware with five years of NetCloud Mobile Essentials and Advanced plans. It is a TAA-compliant ordering option for the U.S. Federal Government. The hardware ships without an AC power supply or antennas.

The embedded 1200M-B modem is Cat 18 LTE Advanced Pro with 4x4 MIMO, 256 QAM and up to 5 CA downlink and 2 CA uplink. It delivers up to 1.2 Gbps down and 150 Mbps up. It has dual 2FF SIM slots with SIM-based auto-carrier selection and four SMA cellular connectors. Band support covers B14, B71 and CBRS Band 48 for private cellular. The router also has five GbE LAN/WAN switchable ports and tri-radio, dual-band Wi-Fi. One 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 radio and two 2x2 802.11n radios can dedicate capacity to video offload and separate client groups.

The IBR1700 is built for vehicle integration. Discrete active GPS with dead reckoning supports Automatic Vehicle Location systems. The RS-232 serial port supports OBD-II with an accessory cable. GPIO, USB 2.0 and the NetCloud SDK, API and container support let teams build custom solutions. The router is 5G ready. Its MC400 modular modem slot accepts a second modem, and it can act as the controller for a Cradlepoint 5G adapter in captive mode. The IP64 metal chassis runs from -30 °C to 70 °C on 9-36 VDC. It adds ignition sensing and reverse-polarity and transient protection, and it carries MIL-STD-810G and SAE J1455 ratings.

NetCloud Mobile Advanced adds threat management, web filtering, application visibility, analytics, location tracking and cellular coverage maps. NetCloud Manager provides device management and software updates for the full five-year term. The package also includes 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active.
