Overview

The Teltonika TRB247 is a compact industrial IoT gateway for the North American market. It pairs LTE Cat 1 bis connectivity (up to 10 Mbps down / 5 Mbps up) and dual Mini SIM failover with RS232, RS485, configurable digital I/O, one 10/100 Ethernet port and multi-constellation GNSS. It connects legacy equipment to cloud and SCADA platforms using Modbus, DNP3, DLMS, OPC UA, BACnet and MQTT. It runs on 9-30 VDC inside an anodised aluminium housing rated from -40 °C to 75 °C. This SKU (TRB247010000) ships without a power supply.

The Teltonika TRB247 is an LTE Cat 1 bis communicator for industrial and IIoT projects in North America. Its main job is to connect legacy equipment to modern cloud platforms. It handles serial devices on RS232 and RS485, reads sensors and switches through three digital inputs and three open-collector outputs, and offers one 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port for a local controller or HMI. The LTE module is a 3GPP Release 14 Cat 1 bis design with speeds up to 10 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up. It covers LTE-FDD bands B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B66 and B71. This hardware version uses two physical Mini SIM (2FF) slots in a stacked tray and has no eSIM. Automatic failover and SIM idle protection keep the backup SIM active.

Industrial protocols are built in. Modbus runs as server or client over RTU and TCP. DNP3 runs as station or outstation. The gateway also supports DLMS/COSEM client mode for utility meters, OPC UA client and server, and BACnet routing over IP and RS485. The Data to Server feature collects parameters from multiple sources and sends them over HTTP(S), MQTT or Azure MQTT. Integrations are available for Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, ThingWorx and Cumulocity.

The gateway runs RutOS, an OpenWrt-based Linux OS. RutOS provides the firewall with attack prevention, VLANs and 802.1x. VPN options include OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, Tailscale, ZeroTier, DMVPN and more. For management, the device supports Teltonika RMS, TR-069, SNMP v1/v2/v3 and JSON-RPC. GNSS covers GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS, with geofencing and NTRIP support.

The housing is anodised aluminium, measures 83 x 25 x 82.6 mm and weighs 181 g. It carries an IP30 rating and operates from -40 °C to 75 °C. The device accepts 9-30 VDC with reverse polarity and surge protection and draws under 2.6 W at maximum. DIN rail, wall and flat-surface mounting are supported with additional kits. The unit is FCC and ISED certified.
