Overview

The Lantronix X304G00AS is the USA/Canada LTE Cat 1 model of the X300 Series, a 79 x 79 mm industrial IoT gateway in a brushed aluminum housing. It combines a software-switchable RS-232/RS-485 serial port, a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN port, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth/BLE 5.0 and Qualcomm IZat GNSS. Ethernet, cellular and Wi-Fi can be configured for failover or load balancing. The package includes antennas, a power supply, 1 year of the Percepxion IoT Edge platform and LEVEL 2 technical services.

The Lantronix X304G00AS is the USA/Canada LTE Cat 1 variant of the X300 Series Compact Cellular IoT Gateway. It is built for industrial automation, remote monitoring, SCADA, PLC connectivity and legacy equipment modernization, and it fits where space is tight: the brushed aluminum body measures 79 x 79 x 23.5 mm without connectors and weighs approximately 150 grams. The cellular radio covers LTE bands 71, 12 (17), 13, 14, 26 (5), 66 (10, 4) and 25 (2).

All the interfaces field teams usually need are on the unit. A multi-mode serial port on an RJ-45 header runs RS-232 (6-signal) or RS-485 half or full duplex, switchable in software. It sits alongside one 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN port, 2T2R Wi-Fi 5 through two RP-SMA connectors, Bluetooth/BLE 5.0 and Qualcomm IZat gen. 8C gpsOne positioning on a dedicated SMA connector. Ethernet, cellular and Wi-Fi can run as failover or load-balanced links. For remote access, the gateway supports WireGuard, ZeroTier, OpenVPN, L2TP, GRE, PPTP client and up to 4 IPsec channels.

Security comes from Lantronix InfiniShield, which includes a secure element chip, secure boot, a zone-based firewall, VLAN, DMZ, HTTPS and SIM PIN. The Linux-based ePACK software suite lets developers add their own edge applications with the SDK and ImageBuilder, installed as IPK packages. Serial and Bluetooth SPP to network tunnels are available.

The box includes antennas, the ACC-520-0165-00 12 V DC wall-cube power supply, 1 year of the Percepxion device management platform and LEVEL 2 technical services. Percepxion provides zero-touch provisioning, remote configuration and firmware pushes across one to thousands of sites. A user guide and quick start guide are published for this model.
