Overview

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R920 (MAA1-0920-C7B-GA) is the Rest of World version of Cradlepoint's ruggedized LTE router for vehicles and IoT. It is built for Australia, the European Union, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom, not for the U.S. or Canada. It combines a Cat 7 LTE modem (300 Mbps down, 150 Mbps up) and dual 4FF SIM slots with Wi-Fi 6, two GbE ports, active GNSS, IP64 protection and 9–36 VDC ignition-sensing power. It includes a 1-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials + Advanced plan and ships without an AC power supply or antennas.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R920 is a ruggedized LTE networking platform for fleets, transit, emergency services and IoT deployments that want one standard router across many installs. This SKU (MAA1-0920-C7B-GA) is the global variant for Australia, the European Union, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom. U.S. and Canadian deployments use the North America (C7A) model instead. The package includes a 1-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Essentials + Advanced plan, covering NetCloud Manager cloud management, software updates and support for the full term.

The embedded Cat 7 LTE modem uses 2x2 MIMO and two-carrier aggregation for 300 Mbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink. It covers LTE FDD bands B1, B3, B7, B8, B20, B28 and B32, TDD bands B38, B40, B41, B42 and B43, and WCDMA bands 1, 5 and 8. The modem meets GCF standards. Dual 4FF SIM slots provide SIM-based auto-carrier selection. With the RX20 Managed Accessory you can add a second LTE or 5G modem and a serial port.

For on-board users and equipment, the R920 offers dual-band concurrent 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 (up to 1.2 Gbps at 5 GHz) with AP, client and Wi-Fi-as-WAN modes. It also has two GbE LAN/WAN ports, a screw-lock USB 2.0 port, GPIO and Bluetooth LE 5.1. Active GNSS tracks GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS for NetCloud coverage maps and location history. Firewall and IPS throughput reach 940 Mbps, with 20 concurrent IPsec VPN tunnels.

The IP64 metal chassis operates from -30 °C to 75 °C. It carries E-Mark, EN 61373 rail, MIL-STD-810G, SAE J1455 and Class I Div 2 certifications. A dual-core 64-bit ARM processor runs Docker containers at the edge. This configuration does not include an AC power supply or antennas.

This SKU is for Australia, the European Union, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom. Its LTE bands target those markets. For the U.S. and Canada, Cradlepoint offers the North America C7A version (MAA1-0920-C7A-NA).

Which LTE bands does the C7B modem support?
