The Lantronix NTC-221-01-01 is the Australia and New Zealand variant of the NTC-220 Series 4G LTE Cat 1 industrial IoT router. It supports LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 28 and 40 at up to 10 Mbps down. It combines Ethernet, software-selectable RS-232/RS-485/RS-422 serial, Micro USB OTG, three multipurpose I/O pins, ignition sensing and multi-constellation GNSS in an IP41 enclosure rated from -40°C to +70°C.
The Lantronix NTC-221-01-01 is the Australia and New Zealand model of the NTC-220 Series 4G LTE Cat 1 IIoT router. It is built for vehicles, utilities and remote equipment that need secure, economical cellular links. It covers LTE Cat 1 bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 28 and 40, with peaks of 10 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up on LTE FDD. It uses two SMA connectors for main and diversity antennas plus a third SMA for GNSS. US deployments use other variants in the series: the NTC-224 (AT&T, T-Mobile), NTC-225 (Verizon) or NTC-227 (Global).
The router is designed around interfacing. It has a 100Base-T Ethernet port and a DB-9 serial port that switches in software between 9-wire RS-232 and RS-485/RS-422, with software-controlled termination. A Micro USB 2.0 OTG port handles local storage. An I/O terminal block provides three multipurpose pins that work as NAMUR sensor inputs, 0-30 V analogue inputs, digital inputs or open collector outputs, plus a dedicated ignition input. The built-in Modbus TCP/RTU gateway handles up to 247 slaves, and the Data Stream Manager bridges serial, SMS and USB data.
Multi-constellation positioning (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS) supports tracking of vehicles, trucks and construction machinery, with odometer readings available in the web UI, CLI and SDK. The router supports IPSec (up to 5 tunnels), OpenVPN, GRE and PPTP VPNs. It can be managed through HTTPS, SSH, SNMP v3, TR-069, LWM2M and SMS. A 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 with 256 MB of RAM runs the Linux-based Lantronix OS and SDK.
The router takes 8-40 V DC with ISO 7637 vehicle protection, draws 6 W, and weighs 221 g. It mounts on a wall or on a DIN rail using the included bracket. Lantronix publishes a product brief, quick start guide, user guide and software developer guide.
It is the Australia and New Zealand variant of the NTC-220 Series, covering LTE Cat 1 bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 28 and 40. For North America, Lantronix offers the NTC-224 (AT&T, T-Mobile), NTC-225 (Verizon) and NTC-227 (Global).
It has a DB-9 female DCE port that switches in software between 9-wire RS-232 and RS-485/RS-422, with software-controlled RS-485 termination resistors.
Yes. It works as a Modbus TCP/IP gateway and client agent for up to 247 slaves and supports Modbus RTU and ASCII frames.
Lantronix lists GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS. A dedicated SMA connector is provided for the GNSS antenna.
Yes. It has a dedicated ignition input and an 8-40 V DC input with ISO 7637 vehicle protection. It draws 6 W, with 12 V 1.5 A recommended.
