The Lantronix NTC-222 is the Europe, Middle East and Africa variant of the NTC-220 Series 4G LTE Cat 1 industrial IoT router. It supports LTE bands B1, B3, B5, B7, B8 and B20. It combines a 100Base-T Ethernet port, a software-selectable RS232/RS485/RS422 serial port, configurable I/O, ignition sensing and multi-constellation GNSS in a DIN-rail-mountable IP41 enclosure. It is built for vehicle, utility and remote telemetry deployments in EMEA markets.
The Lantronix NTC-222 (MPN NTC-222-01-01) is a 4G LTE Category 1 industrial IoT router from the NTC-220 Series, formerly NetComm Industrial IoT. This is the Europe, Middle East and Africa model. Its LTE bands are B1, B3, B5, B7, B8 and B20, so it is intended for EMEA networks rather than US carriers. For US deployments, Lantronix offers the NTC-224 for AT&T and T-Mobile and the NTC-225 for Verizon. Lantronix publishes CE and UKCA declarations of conformity for this model.
The router is built for machines rather than people. It has one 100Base-T Ethernet port and a DB-9 serial port that switches in software between 9-wire RS232 and RS485/RS422, with software-controlled termination. The I/O terminal block adds three multipurpose I/O pins. These pins handle NAMUR sensor input, 0-30V analogue input, digital input and open collector output. A Micro USB 2.0 OTG port can connect local storage. Modbus RTU/ASCII and a Modbus TCP/IP gateway supporting up to 247 slaves let it bridge legacy field equipment onto IP networks.
For vehicles and mobile assets, the NTC-222 adds: • An ignition input • A wide 8-40V DC supply range with ISO7637 vehicle protection • GNSS covering GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS • An operating range of -40°C to +70°C
For security, it supports IPSec (up to 5 tunnels), OpenVPN, GRE and PPTP. VRRP is available for redundant failover.
Remote management covers HTTPS web UI, SSH CLI, SNMP v1/v2/v3, TR-069, LWM2M and SMS, including over-the-air firmware upgrades. The Linux-based Lantronix OS and SDK let integrators build custom applications in C, Shell or LUA. Lantronix provides a product brief, user guide, quick start guide and software developer guide for the NTC-220 Series.

The DB-9 female DCE port is software selectable between 9-wire RS232 and RS485/RS422. It has software-controlled termination resistors for RS485, and it supports Modbus RTU/ASCII.
Yes. It accepts 8-40V DC with ISO7637 vehicle protection and has a dedicated ignition input. Its built-in GNSS covers GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS.
It terminates up to 5 IPSec tunnels. It also supports OpenVPN (client, server and P2P), GRE tunnelling and a PPTP client.
Yes. The Linux-based Lantronix OS includes an SDK for C, Shell script and LUA applications. It also has a package manager in the web UI and an API to the device's runtime database.
