Overview

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2400 is a ruggedized in-vehicle router with an embedded 5G SA/NSA and Cat 20 LTE modem, Wi-Fi 7, and Dual-SIM Dual Standby with dual eSIM. This TAA-compliant FIPS SKU (TAA-MBA1-R2400-5GF-NA-FA) is the North American configuration for US Federal Government ordering. It bundles a 1-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials package and an Advanced Plan. It ships without an AC power supply or antennas.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2400 is a ruggedized, secure router built for in-vehicle deployments such as public safety fleets, transit and field operations. This SKU is the TAA-compliant FIPS variant for US Federal Government ordering. Its North American Cat 20 5G modem is certified on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, and it supports T-Mobile T-Priority. It includes a 1-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials package plus an Advanced Plan. The hardware configuration has no AC power supply or antennas, so plan for 9–36 VDC vehicle power and your own cellular, Wi-Fi and GNSS antennas.

The embedded modem supports 5G FR1 NSA and SA plus LTE Advanced Pro Category 20, with peak rates up to 4.9 Gbps down and 900 Mbps up. Dual-SIM Dual Standby lets the router watch the standby network and fail over quickly. Dual eSIM means you can change carriers without swapping physical SIMs. The modular design supports up to four additional external 5G SA modems, for up to five simultaneous 5G SA and LEO satellite connections. It also supports CBRS Band 48 private cellular and 5G network slicing.

For networking, the R2400 provides four 2.5 GbE and two 1 GbE LAN/WAN-switchable ports and a software-defined Wi-Fi 7 radio. It is rated for 2 Gbps stateful firewall throughput, 800 Mbps point-to-point IPsec VPN and 20 concurrent tunnels. A quad-core ARMv8 CPU with up to 3.8 GB of memory runs Docker containerized applications at the edge. Location comes from a four-constellation GNSS receiver with dead reckoning and Real-Time Kinematics for up to centimeter-level accuracy.

The chassis is rated IP64 and operates from -40 °C to 70 °C. It carries MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration testing, E-Mark, SAE J1455, NFPA 130 and Class I Div 2 certifications. The FIPS 140-3 Level 1 module is in process. The NetCloud package includes NetCloud Manager, software updates and 24x7 support for the term, plus a limited lifetime warranty while the subscription stays active.

No. This hardware configuration ships without an AC power supply or antennas. The router runs on 9–36 VDC through a 4-pin 2x2 Molex Mini-Fit connector. It provides 4 SMA cellular connectors, 4 RP-SMA Wi-Fi connectors and 1 SMA GNSS connector for the antennas you choose.
