The Fortinet FortiExtender 101G (FEX-101G) is an indoor LTE Cat 6 wireless WAN router for Fortinet networks. It pairs a Telit LN920A6-WW modem, rated at 300 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up, with dual Micro-SIM failover and a reserved eSIM. It also provides one Gigabit WAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports, 802.3at PoE power and GPS/GNSS. You manage it from FortiGate and FortiManager, with cloud and on-premises options.

The Fortinet FortiExtender 101G (FEX-101G) is an indoor broadband wireless WAN router that adds LTE Cat 6 connectivity to Fortinet-secured networks. It is built for sites that need a primary or backup cellular link managed from the same console as their FortiGate firewalls, including point-of-sale systems, kiosks, microbranches, factories and healthcare facilities.

The router uses a Telit LN920A6-WW LTE Cat 6 modem rated at 300 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink. The modem supports 2x2 MIMO, receiver diversity and receiver equalization, which help at cell edges, inside buildings and in noisy radio environments. Two Micro-SIM (3FF) slots with intelligent failover sit behind a SIM security cover, and a reserved eSIM supports NA, APAC and EMEA carriers. The modem covers 28 LTE bands, including 12, 13, 14, 48 (CBRS), 66 and 71, with 3G UMTS/HSPA+ and WCDMA fallback. It carries Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and PTCRB certifications and is FirstNet Capable on 4G, with FirstNet Trusted status in progress.

For wired connections there is one Gigabit Ethernet WAN port, four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, a USB 2.0 Type-A port, an RJ45 console port and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0+. Port 4 accepts IEEE 802.3at PoE, so a single cable can power the unit. An external DC adapter is available separately. Average draw is 9.10 W. The 158 x 158 x 38 mm enclosure weighs 0.90 lb and mounts on a wall or desk. Three external SMA connectors handle two LTE antennas and one GNSS antenna.

The FortiExtender 101G integrates with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN and supports single-pane management through FortiGate and FortiManager, with cloud or on-premises options. It also provides out-of-band management, VxLAN network fabric extension and L2 tunnel mode over VLAN or CAPWAP. Rated throughput is 160 Mbps IPsec VPN over LTE and 600/350 Mbps VxLAN over IPsec.
