The FortiExtender 311F is part of Fortinet's FortiExtender line, built on the company's security-driven networking approach: connectivity and security are configured together rather than bolted on afterward. This high-throughput model carries a dual-SIM 3G/4G LTE Cat 16 M.2 module, rated to 1 Gbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink — enough to serve as a genuine broadband replacement, not just an emergency fallback. The port complement stands out in its class: an SFP WAN slot supports fiber handoff alongside the RJ45 WAN, four GE LAN ports serve the site directly, and GPS/GNSS provides location service. Four external antennas support the 4x4-class radio, and the 7.8 x 1.8 inch chassis mounts on a desktop or wall. Note that the power adapter is sold separately — most installs power the unit via PoE.
