Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 60F-3G4G Industrial Firewall with Embedded 4G LTE

The FortiGate Rugged 60F-3G4G is Fortinet's all-in-one security appliance for networks that live outside the server room: substations, rail and rolling stock, maritime installations, factory floors and remote OT sites. The fanless IP20 chassis mounts on a desktop, DIN rail or wall. It runs from -40°C to 75°C (-40°F to 167°F), and Fortinet lists IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 certification for the electric power industry. The unit also carries DNV GL type approval for maritime use and EN 50121 EMC compliance for rolling stock.

WAN connectivity combines wired and cellular links. The embedded Sierra Wireless EM7565 3G/4G LTE modem has two SIM slots (active/passive) and covers LTE bands B1 to B66 across all regions, with MIMO and diversity. It carries PTCRB, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon carrier certifications. Two external SMA WWAN antennas and one external SMA GPS antenna are included for the passive GPS receiver. On the wired side, you get 4 GE RJ45 LAN ports and 2 shared-media WAN ports that accept either RJ45 or SFP. A GE bypass pair between PORT4 and WAN1 lets traffic keep flowing through the appliance. For industrial serial equipment, the unit adds an RJ45 console port, a DB9 data serial port and a USB-A 2.0 port.

The FortiSoC4 processor delivers up to 6 Gbps IPv4 firewall throughput and 3.5 Gbps IPsec VPN throughput. It also rates 950 Mbps IPS, 550 Mbps NGFW and 500 Mbps threat protection throughput on an enterprise traffic mix, with a TPM on board. Power comes from redundant 12V to 125V DC terminal-block inputs, drawing 16 W on average.
