Overview

The Lantronix G527GP22S is the EMEA and APAC version of the G527, the security model in the G520 Series of rugged IoT cellular gateways. It pairs LTE Cat 7 downlink / Cat 13 uplink with two 10/100 Ethernet ports that deliver up to 30 W of PSE-PoE+ each. A Microchip ATECC608 secure element with Lantronix InfiniShield, dual SIM and an aluminum housing rated for -30 °C to +70 °C suit it to remote CCTV and security deployments. It is not the North American variant.

The Lantronix G527GP22S is the EMEA and APAC regional version of the G527, the security model in the Lantronix G520 Series of IoT cellular gateways. Lantronix positions the G527 as a cost-effective choice for high-throughput CCTV. It combines LTE Cat 7 downlink and Cat 13 uplink with PSE-PoE+ on its Ethernet ports, so a single unit can both power and backhaul IP cameras. LTE coverage spans bands B1, B3, B7, B8, B20, B28, B32, B38, B40, B41, B42 and B43, with 3G fallback. This SKU targets EMEA and APAC networks; North American deployments use the G527GP2AS.

Each of the two 10/100 Ethernet ports can supply up to 30 W of PoE+, with a suitably sized power supply. One is a LAN port and the other is a WAN port that can be reassigned as a second LAN. Security starts in hardware with a Microchip ATECC608 cryptographic secure element under Lantronix InfiniShield. The software adds a zone-based firewall, VLAN, DMZ, HTTPS administration, SIM PIN and VPNs including IPsec (up to 4 channels), OpenVPN and WireGuard.

The G527 keeps the full G520 interface set: • RS-232 and RS-485 serial • USB 2.0 host port • CANbus and ignition sensing • Configurable analog, 4–20 mA or digital I/O • 2T2R Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth/BLE 5.1 • GPS

For resilience, it offers dual SIM, Ethernet/cellular/Wi-Fi failover or load balancing, watchdogs and an approximately 100-second last-gasp battery. The brushed aluminum housing runs on 10.8–60 V DC from -30 °C to +70 °C.

Fleets can be managed through Lantronix Percepxion or third-party platforms, and developers can extend the gateway with the G520 SDK in Python or C/C++. Lantronix publishes CE and UKCA declarations, Australian RCM and Taiwan NCC certificates for this SKU, along with UL and CB certification for the G527.

Can I use the G527GP22S in the United States?

This SKU is the EMEA and APAC variant, with bands B1, B3, B7, B8, B20, B28, B32, B38, B40, B41, B42 and B43. For North America (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon), Lantronix offers the G527GP2AS.

How much PoE power can it deliver?

Each LAN port supports PSE-PoE+ at up to 30 W. You need a power supply large enough to cover the gateway plus the connected PoE devices.

Is the G527 a 5G gateway?

No. The G527 uses LTE, with Cat 7 downlink and Cat 13 uplink plus 3G fallback. 5G sub-6 GHz is offered on the G528 model in the same series.

What security hardware is included?
