Overview

The Lantronix G527GP2ASG is the North American (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon), TAA-compliant version of the G527 security gateway. It combines 4G LTE Cat 7 downlink and Cat 13 uplink with two PSE-PoE+ Ethernet ports and a Microchip ATECC608 secure element in a rugged aluminum housing. Lantronix positions it for high-throughput CCTV, industrial automation and remote sites. It adds dual SIM, GNSS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, serial, I/O and CAN bus interfaces, and it runs on a 10.8-60 V DC supply.

The Lantronix G527GP2ASG is the North American (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) variant of the G527. The G527 is the LTE model in the Security line of Lantronix's G520 Series IoT cellular gateways, and this SKU is TAA compliant. It pairs LTE Cat 7 downlink and Cat 13 uplink with a Microchip ATECC608 secure element and Lantronix InfiniShield security. Lantronix describes it as a cost-effective choice for high-throughput CCTV and for mission-critical industrial connections.

The cellular radio covers LTE bands B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B13, B14, B25, B26, B41, B42, B43, B48, B66 and B71, with 3G fallback. Two mechanically secured mini-SIM holders provide dual SIM with single standby. Ethernet, cellular and Wi-Fi uplinks can be set for failover or load balancing. Two 10/100 Ethernet ports deliver PSE-PoE+ at up to 30 W per LAN port, so the gateway can power a camera or sensor directly. Local wireless includes 2T2R Wi-Fi 5, as a client or as an access point for about 12 users, plus Bluetooth/BLE 5.1. GPS uses a dedicated SMA connector.

For industrial integration, the gateway provides: • RS-232 on a 9-pin sub-D connector and RS-485 on a COMBICON header • A USB host port, two configurable analog, 4-20 mA or digital-output I/Os, ignition sensing and CAN bus • Modbus master, DNP3 outstation, IEC 101/104, EtherCAT and DLMS client protocols

The brushed aluminum housing operates from -30 °C to +70 °C. Last Gasp keeps the unit alive for about 100 seconds after power loss.

Management runs through the web UI, TR-069, SMS/OTA configuration or the Lantronix Percepxion platform. The G520 SDK supports custom packages in Python or C/C++. VPN options include IPsec (up to 4 channels), OpenVPN, WireGuard, GRE, L2TP and PPTP client, alongside a zone-based firewall, VLAN and DMZ. Questions buyers ask

Does the G527GP2ASG support 5G?

No. The G527GP2ASG is a 4G LTE gateway with Cat 7 downlink, Cat 13 uplink and 3G fallback. Lantronix offers 5G sub-6 GHz in the G528 model of the same series.

Can it power IP cameras?

Yes. Its Ethernet ports support PSE-PoE+ at up to 30 W per LAN port, provided the gateway is fed from a power supply with enough capacity.

What power input does it need?

It accepts 10.8 to 60 V DC. An ignition pin on the power header supports vehicle installations, and Last Gasp keeps the unit running for about 100 seconds after power loss.

Which parts are not included for the serial and I/O connections?

The RS-485 5-pin COMBICON header is sold separately, and plugs for the 3-pin I/O COMBICON header are not provided. A microSD card for external storage is also not provided.

How is the gateway managed remotely?

You can manage it through the HTTPS web interface, SMS/OTA configuration, TR-069, the Lantronix Percepxion platform or a third-party platform. The G520 SDK also supports custom applications in Python or C/C++.
