Overview

The Lantronix E214G000S is the North American AT&T and T-Mobile variant of the E210 Series industrial IoT router. It connects on 4G LTE Cat-1 bands 2, 4, 5 and 12 with 3G fallback. It combines dual SIM failover, two 10/100 Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 4, an RS-232 serial port, two configurable I/Os and GPS in a compact brushed-aluminum housing. Use it for industrial automation, payment terminals, smart buildings and remote monitoring sites that need an always-on cellular link.

The Lantronix E214G000S is a compact, industrial-grade LTE Cat-1 router from the E210 Series. This part number is the North America variant for AT&T and T-Mobile. It operates on LTE bands B2, B4, B5 and B12 with 3G fallback. It is built for M2M and enterprise IoT work where connectivity has to stay up, such as industrial automation, Industry 4.0, smart buildings, smart city infrastructure, transportation and point-of-sale payments.

Connectivity is flexible. Two mini-SIM trays provide dual SIM, single-standby operation, and switching can be based on quality of service or on your own scripted conditions. You also get one WAN and one LAN 10/100 Ethernet port, and the WAN port can be reassigned as a second LAN. Wi-Fi 4 runs through an RP-SMA antenna connector in client or access point mode. Ethernet, cellular and Wi-Fi can each be configured for failover or load balancing. A full RS-232 port on a 9-pin sub-D connector links legacy equipment, and the optional SNAP CAP SC485 adapter converts it to isolated RS-485. Two user-configurable digital I/Os and GPS on a dedicated SMA connector complete the interface set.

The router runs Lantronix's Linux-based ePack software suite. It supports VPN via OpenVPN, IPsec (up to 4 channels), WireGuard, L2TP, GRE and PPTP client. Security includes a zone-based firewall, VLAN, DMZ and HTTPS management. Built-in converters translate Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 60870-5-101/104 and DNP3, and can forward data to MQTT, Azure, Cumulocity, FTP or HTTP. For remote fleets, it supports TR-069, SMS/OTA configuration and Lantronix Percepxion device management. A microSD slot supports local logging and edge processing, and custom packages can be built with the G520 SDK in Python or C/C++.

The unit accepts 8 to 32 V DC and operates from -20 °C to +70 °C. Lantronix publishes an E210 Series User Guide, an E214G Quick Start Guide and a product brief for this model.
