Overview

The Lantronix E214G001S is the North American Verizon variant of the E210 Series industrial IoT router. It connects over 4G LTE Cat-1 on bands 13 and 14. In a compact aluminum housing it pairs dual SIM operation with two 10/100 Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 4, an RS-232 serial port, two configurable I/Os and GPS. It is designed for industrial automation, payment, smart building and transportation deployments on Verizon's network.

  • 4G LTE Cat-1 on bands B13 and B14 (North America, Verizon)
  • Dual SIM, single standby via two mini-SIM trays, with QoS-based or scripted switching
  • Two 10/100 Ethernet ports (WAN reconfigurable as a second LAN) and 1T1R Wi-Fi 4
  • Full RS-232 serial port on a 9-pin sub-D connector, two configurable digital I/Os and GPS
  • Fieldbus protocol conversion including Modbus, DNP3 and IEC 60870-5-101/104
  • TR-069, MQTT/s, TLS 1.3 and Lantronix Percepxion for centralized management
  • Put industrial and payment equipment on Verizon LTE with a router built for continuous operation
  • Keep the connection up with dual SIM and Ethernet/cellular/Wi-Fi failover or load balancing

The Lantronix E214G001S is a compact, industrial-grade LTE Cat-1 router from the E210 Series, built as the North America Verizon variant. It operates on LTE bands B13 and B14. It targets mission-critical M2M and enterprise IoT applications, including industrial automation, Industry 4.0, smart buildings, smart city systems, transportation, security and sales/payment.

The router provides dual SIM, single-standby operation through two mini-SIM trays, with switching based on quality of service or scripted conditions. For wired connections it has one WAN and one LAN 10/100 Ethernet port, and the WAN port can be reconfigured as a second LAN. Wi-Fi 4 connects via an RP-SMA antenna and works as a client or access point. Ethernet, cellular and Wi-Fi can be set up for failover or load balancing. Field equipment connects through a full RS-232 port on a 9-pin sub-D connector, or through isolated RS-485 using the optional SNAP CAP SC485. Two user-configurable digital I/Os and GPS on a dedicated SMA connector round out the hardware.

The Linux-based ePack software suite supports OpenVPN, IPsec (up to 4 channels), WireGuard, L2TP, GRE and PPTP client. It also provides a zone-based firewall, VLAN, DMZ and HTTPS management. Built-in converters handle Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 60870-5-101/104 and DNP3, and Modbus data can be published to MQTT, Azure, Cumulocity, FTP or HTTP. Fleet operators can manage units through Lantronix Percepxion, TR-069 or SMS/OTA configuration. Developers can build custom packages with the G520 SDK in Python or C/C++, and a microSD slot supports local data logging.

The E214G001S runs on 8 to 32 V DC and operates from -20 °C to +70 °C. Lantronix publishes an E210 Series User Guide, an E214G Quick Start Guide and a product brief.
