The Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 70F-3G4G (FGR-70F-3G4G) is a fanless, IP40, DIN-rail next-generation firewall for industrial and OT networks. It combines 6 GE RJ45 ports, 2 SFP slots, a bypass port pair and an embedded Sierra Wireless EM7565 3G/4G LTE modem with two active/passive SIM slots and passive GPS. It delivers up to 8 Gbps firewall and 6.5 Gbps IPsec VPN throughput, runs from 12V to 125V DC redundant inputs and operates from -40°C to 75°C.

The FortiGate Rugged 70F-3G4G is Fortinet's compact industrial next-generation firewall for substations, rail, utilities, factory floors and other operational technology sites where office-grade equipment will not last. The fanless, IP40 indoor enclosure mounts on DIN rail, operates from -40°C to 75°C in 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity, and carries IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 certification for the electric power industry plus EN 50155 rolling stock certification.

Connectivity is built for field deployments: 4 GE RJ45 LAN ports, 2 GE RJ45 WAN ports, a GE bypass port pair between PORT3 and PORT4, 2 dedicated GE SFP slots, an RJ45 serial data port, an RJ45 console port, USB-A 2.0 and a MicroSD slot. The embedded Sierra Wireless EM7565 modem provides 3G/4G LTE across 24 LTE bands with MIMO and diversity, two active/passive SIM slots and passive GPS, with two external SMA WWAN antennas and one SMA GPS antenna included. The modem is PTCRB certified and carrier certified for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

The FortiSoC4 processor and FortiOS deliver up to 8 Gbps firewall throughput, 6.5 Gbps IPsec VPN, 975 Mbps IPS, 950 Mbps NGFW and 580 Mbps threat protection throughput, with 1 million concurrent sessions and 200 gateway-to-gateway IPsec tunnels. Built-in Secure SD-WAN, FortiGuard AI-powered security services, a Trusted Platform Module, Bluetooth Low Energy and a digital I/O module round out the platform, and it can manage up to 24 FortiSwitches and 64 FortiAPs.

No. It uses a Sierra Wireless EM7565 3G/4G LTE modem covering 24 LTE bands and UMTS/HSPA+; no 5G bands are listed.

Which carriers is the cellular modem certified for?

Fortinet lists PTCRB certification and carrier certification for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. FirstNet, T-Priority and Verizon Frontline public safety networks are not listed.
