Overview

The Cradlepoint IBR1700 (TAA-MA1-1700120B-NNA) is a ruggedized, TAA-compliant in-vehicle router for U.S. Federal Government buyers and public-sector fleets. It pairs an embedded 1200M-B Cat 18 LTE Advanced Pro modem (up to 1.2 Gbps down) with dual SIM slots, tri-radio dual-band Wi-Fi 5, five switchable Gigabit Ethernet ports, and discrete GPS with dead reckoning. It is bundled with a 1-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials plan for cloud management, software updates and 24x7 support. AC power supply and antennas are not included.

The Cradlepoint IBR1700 is a Gigabit-class LTE networking platform built for persistent connectivity in vehicles. This TAA-compliant SKU is the U.S. Federal Government ordering option. It combines the IBR1700 hardware with a 1-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Essentials plan, making it a fit for police, fire and EMS fleets, utility trucks, and other field-force vehicles that need one managed connection for users, laptops and in-vehicle IoT.

This configuration uses the embedded 1200M-B modem. It supports Cat 18 LTE Advanced Pro with 4x4 MIMO, 256-QAM, up to 5 downlink carriers and 2 uplink carriers aggregated, and peak rates of 1.2 Gbps down and 150 Mbps up. Two 2FF SIM slots offer SIM-based auto-carrier selection. A second modular modem slot (MC400) adds simultaneous multi-carrier connectivity. The router is 5G-enabled with a Cradlepoint 5G adapter, which it can run in captive mode as a single managed unit. The modem also covers CBRS Band 48 for private cellular networks and holds AT&T and Verizon network operator certifications.

In the cab, tri-radio Wi-Fi uses two 2x2 802.11n radios and one 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 radio, so traffic such as video offload can run on dedicated radios. Five Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB 2.0, GPIO and an RS-232 serial port with OBD-II functionality connect cameras, MDTs and sensors. Discrete active GPS with dead reckoning feeds Automatic Vehicle Location systems. The router takes 9–36 VDC vehicle power with ignition sensing and reverse-polarity protection. It is rated IP64, MIL-STD-810G and SAE J1455, and operates from -30 °C to 70 °C.

NetCloud Mobile Essentials adds centralized cloud management, group policies, reporting and continuous software updates for router and modem. It also includes 24x7 support and a limited lifetime hardware warranty for as long as an active NetCloud plan is maintained. NetCloud Advanced can be added at any time for threat management, web filtering and coverage mapping.
