Overview

The Cradlepoint IBR1700 is a ruggedized, Gigabit-class LTE router for vehicles. This is TAA-compliant part TAA-MA3-1700120B-NNA, the U.S. Federal Government ordering option. It pairs the embedded Cat 18 (1200M-B) modem and tri-radio Wi-Fi with a 3-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials plan. The plan covers cloud management, software updates, 24x7 support and the limited lifetime hardware warranty for the full term. Antennas and an AC power supply are not included.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint IBR1700 is a ruggedized metal router built for the in-vehicle networks that field forces, public safety agencies and fleet operations depend on. This SKU, TAA-MA3-1700120B-NNA, is the TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government configuration. It combines an IBR1700 with Wi-Fi and the embedded Cat 18 LTE Advanced Pro modem with a 3-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials plan. The modem delivers up to 1.2 Gbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink, with 4x4 MIMO and up to 5 CA downlink. The router ships without antennas or an AC power supply because it is designed to be wired into vehicle power and matched to your own antenna installation.

The hardware is built for connecting everything in the vehicle. It has five LAN/WAN-switchable Gigabit Ethernet ports and tri-radio, dual-band Wi-Fi: two 2x2 802.11n radios plus one 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 radio. Dual 2FF SIM slots support SIM-based auto-carrier selection, and an MC400 modular modem slot adds a second carrier. You also get USB 2.0, a GPIO connector and an RS-232 serial port with OBD-II functionality. A discrete active GNSS receiver with dead reckoning (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou) feeds Automatic Vehicle Location systems. The chassis is IP64 rated and tested to MIL-STD-810G and SAE J1455. It operates from -30 °C to 70 °C and accepts 9-36 VDC input with ignition sensing and ISO 7637-2 transient protection.

NetCloud Mobile Essentials includes NetCloud Manager for centralized policy, deployment and troubleshooting, plus continuous router and modem software updates for the full term. Support runs 24 hours on weekdays by phone with emergency weekend response, 24x7 on the web and 24x5 by chat. The hardware carries a limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active. A NetCloud Mobile Advanced plan can be added at any time for threat management, web filtering, application visibility and coverage maps. For 5G, the IBR1700 can act as controller for an external Cradlepoint 5G adapter in captive mode.
