The Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 50G-5G (FGR-50G-5G-BDL-809-36) is a fanless, DIN-rail next-generation firewall with an embedded dual-SIM 5G modem and GPS, built for industrial and OT networks. It is bundled with a 3-year FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Enterprise Protection subscription. The appliance delivers up to 1.25 Gbps NGFW and 1.1 Gbps threat protection throughput, operates from -40°C to 75°C, and accepts redundant 12V to 54V DC inputs.

The FortiGate Rugged 50G-5G is Fortinet's compact industrial next-generation firewall for substations, rail, transportation and other operational technology sites where a standard office firewall will not survive. This bundle (FGR-50G-5G-BDL-809-36) pairs the hardware with 36 months of FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Enterprise Protection, Fortinet's most complete security services package.

The fanless, IP40, DIN-rail chassis runs from -40°C to 75°C and is certified to IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 for the electric power industry and EN 50155 for rolling stock. Power comes from redundant 12V to 54V DC dual inputs, with an average draw of 16 W. Connectivity includes six GE RJ45 ports (four LAN, two WAN), two SFP slots, an RJ45 serial data port, an RJ45 console port, USB-A 2.0, Bluetooth Low Energy, a digital I/O module and a TPM.

The embedded Telit Cinterion FN990A28-HP 5G modem has two SIM slots (active/passive), four external SMA WWAN antennas and a passive GPS antenna. It covers a broad set of 5G NR and LTE bands, carries AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and PTCRB certification, and is FirstNet Capable (5G) and T-Priority ready.

Powered by the FortiSP5 secure processor and FortiOS, the unit is rated at up to 6 Gbps firewall, 5.3 Gbps IPsec VPN, 2.25 Gbps IPS and 700,000 concurrent sessions, with built-in Secure SD-WAN. The Enterprise Protection bundle adds IPS, anti-malware with FortiGate Cloud Sandbox, AI-based inline malware prevention, URL/DNS/video filtering, DLP, attack surface security, application control, inline CASB and anti-spam.
