Overview

The Cradlepoint S450 is a compact, semi-ruggedized, cloud-managed LTE router for IoT, kiosk, digital signage and light-industrial deployments. This TAA-compliant North America SKU (TAA-TBT5-0450-C6-NA-N) pairs the non-Wi-Fi S450 with a 5-year NetCloud IoT Essentials plan, an AC power supply and antennas. It has an embedded Cat 6 LTE modem with dual SIM slots, one Gigabit Ethernet port, USB 2.0, an expansion module slot and passive GNSS. The Essentials plan covers 24x7 support and NetCloud Manager for the full subscription term.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint S450 is the non-Wi-Fi model of the S400 Series, a cloud-managed, semi-ruggedized router built for IoT networks. It fits deployments where equipment connects by cable and the router's job is secure, dependable LTE: kiosks, digital signage, remote sensors, controllers and light-industrial machinery. This package is the TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government ordering option. It bundles the router with a 5-year NetCloud IoT Essentials plan, an AC power supply and antennas.

Connectivity comes from an embedded Cat 6 LTE modem (3GPP Rel. 11) rated at 300 Mbps peak download and 50 Mbps upload. It supports 2x2 MIMO, downlink carrier aggregation and dual 4FF SIM slots with SIM-based auto-carrier selection. The North America modem covers LTE bands including B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B66 and B71, plus CBRS Band 48 for private LTE networks. The manufacturer lists AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon operator certifications. Wired options include one Gigabit Ethernet port (LAN/WAN selectable) and a USB 2.0 Type-A port. An expansion slot accepts a serial DB-9 (RS232), dual Fast Ethernet or 20-pin GPIO module.

The S450 runs from 9–33 VDC or 802.3af PoE and draws 3.3 W typical. It operates from -20 °C to 60 °C and is tested to MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration methods. It is also rated for Class I Div 2 hazardous locations. Passive GNSS supports GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BDS for asset tracking.

The NetCloud IoT Essentials plan provides NetCloud Manager device management, software updates, zero-trust connect-and-go security and 24x7 support for five years. Hardware is covered by Cradlepoint's limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active. A NetCloud IoT Advanced Plan can be added at any time.

No. The S450 is the non-Wi-Fi model of the S400 Series. It connects devices through its Gigabit Ethernet port, USB port and optional expansion modules. Choose the S400 if you need Wi-Fi 5.
