Overview

The Cradlepoint S450 is the non-Wi-Fi model of the S400 Series: a compact, semi-ruggedized, cloud-managed LTE router for IoT, kiosk, signage and light-industrial use. This TAA-compliant North America SKU (TAA-TBV3-0450-C6-NA-N) bundles the router with 3-year NetCloud IoT Essentials and Advanced plans, an AC power supply and antennas. It has an embedded Cat 6 LTE modem with dual SIM slots, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, an expansion module slot and passive GNSS.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint S450 is a cloud-managed, semi-ruggedized LTE router for IoT networks where devices connect by cable rather than Wi-Fi. It suits controllers, sensors, kiosks and signage players in light-industrial and retail environments. This TAA-compliant package is the U.S. Federal Government ordering option. It pairs the S450 with both the NetCloud IoT Essentials and Advanced plans for three years, plus an AC power supply and antennas.

An embedded Cat 6 LTE modem (3GPP Rel. 11) delivers 300 Mbps peak download and 50 Mbps upload with 2x2 MIMO and downlink carrier aggregation. Dual 4FF SIM slots support SIM-based auto-carrier selection. The North America modem covers LTE bands including B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B66 and B71, plus CBRS Band 48 for private LTE. The manufacturer lists AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon operator certifications.

For wired equipment, the S450 has one Gigabit Ethernet port (LAN/WAN selectable) and a USB 2.0 Type-A port. Its expansion slot accepts a serial DB-9 (RS232), dual Fast Ethernet or 20-pin GPIO module. Passive GNSS supports GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BDS with NMEA 0183 and TAIP output. The unit measures 100 x 105 x 31 mm and draws 3.3 W typical from 9–33 VDC or 802.3af PoE.
