Overview

The Cradlepoint S450 is the wired-only member of the S400 series: a cloud-managed, semi-ruggedized Cat 6 LTE router for IoT without a Wi-Fi radio. This TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government SKU includes a 5-year NetCloud IoT Essentials + Advanced subscription. Per the ordering guide, it ships with an AC power supply and antennas. It provides dual SIM slots, a Gigabit Ethernet port, USB, GNSS and an expansion slot for serial, GPIO or dual Fast Ethernet modules.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint S450 is the S400-series IoT router built without Wi-Fi. It suits sites where a wireless LAN is unnecessary or not permitted, such as light industrial controllers, digital signage players and kiosks. Part number TAA-TBV5-0450-C6-NA-N is the TAA-compliant configuration for U.S. Federal Government ordering. It combines the S450 with 5 years of NetCloud IoT Essentials and the NetCloud IoT Advanced Plan, plus an AC power supply and antennas per the ordering guide.

Connectivity comes from an embedded Cat 6 LTE modem (3GPP Rel. 11) with 2x2 MIMO and peak rates of 300 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up. Dual 4FF SIM slots support SIM-based auto-carrier selection. The North American band set spans B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B66 and B71, plus B41 and CBRS Band 48 for private LTE. The modem carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon operator certifications.

Wired connections include: • One LAN/WAN-selectable GbE port • A USB 2.0 Type-A port • An expansion slot that adds RS232 serial, a 20-pin GPIO module or two Fast Ethernet ports

GNSS covers GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BDS for location-aware deployments. The S450 runs from 9–33 VDC or 802.3af PoE and draws a typical 3.3 W. It operates from -20 °C to 60 °C and meets MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration methods and Class I Div 2 hazardous location ratings.

Throughout the subscription term, NetCloud Manager provides centralized cloud management, group policies, troubleshooting and software updates. Zero trust connect-and-go security and 24x7 support are included. Cradlepoint hardware carries a limited lifetime warranty while an active NetCloud Service Plan is maintained.
