Overview

The Cradlepoint S450 (TBT5-0450-C6-NA-N) is a cloud-managed, semi-ruggedized 4G LTE router for IoT, kiosk, digital signage and light industrial deployments in the U.S. and Canada. It pairs an embedded Cat 6 LTE modem with dual SIM slots, Gigabit Ethernet and an expansion module slot. This configuration has no Wi-Fi. The package includes a 5-year NetCloud IoT Essentials plan with NetCloud Manager, 24x7 support and zero trust security, plus an AC power supply and two cellular antennas.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint S450 is the non-Wi-Fi model of the S400 series, a compact, cloud-managed router built for IoT networks. This North America SKU (U.S. & Canada) bundles the hardware with a 5-year NetCloud IoT Essentials plan, an AC power supply and two external 600 MHz–6 GHz cellular paddle antennas. It suits kiosks, digital signage, remote sensors and light industrial equipment where a small, dependable LTE connection matters more than raw throughput.

Connectivity comes from an embedded Cat 6 LTE modem (3GPP Rel. 11) rated for up to 300 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload. The modem supports 2x2 MIMO and downlink carrier aggregation. Dual 4FF SIM slots with SIM-based auto-carrier selection allow carrier failover. North American band coverage includes B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B13, B14, B25, B26, B29, B30, B66 and B71, plus TDD B41 and B48 (CBRS) for private cellular networks. The modem carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon network certifications.

Wired options start with one Gigabit Ethernet port (LAN/WAN selectable) and a USB 2.0 Type A port. The expansion slot accepts a serial DB-9 RS232 module, a dual Fast Ethernet module or a 20-pin GPIO module. Passive GNSS (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BDS) supports asset tracking. Power comes from 9–33 VDC with reverse polarity and transient protection, or from 802.3af PoE. Typical draw is 3.3 W.

The S450 is built for tough sites. It operates from -20 °C to 60 °C, is rated IP30 and is tested to MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration methods. It holds Class I Div 2 hazardous location certification. For the full 5-year term, the Essentials plan provides NetCloud Manager for centralized configuration, group policies, troubleshooting and software updates. The plan also includes 24x7 support and a limited lifetime hardware warranty while the subscription is active.
