Overview

The Cradlepoint R2155 is the non-Wi-Fi model of the R2100 ruggedized 5G router, designed to mount on a vehicle roof or IoT enclosure. It delivers 5G over a single 2.5 GbE cable. This TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government SKU (TAA-MBA3-2155-5GB-GA) includes 3-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials and Advanced plans. It pairs a 5G NR / Cat 20 LTE modem and internal antennas with dual 4FF SIM slots and passive GNSS in an IP67, IK09 housing, powered by DC or 802.3at PoE. A SIM card and AC power supply are not included.

The Cradlepoint R2155 combines a 5G modem, four internal cellular antennas and a router in one aerodynamic, exterior-mounted housing, without Wi-Fi. It suits deployments where a separate in-vehicle router or equipment cabinet already handles local networking. Mounting it on the roof removes coax runs and antenna cable loss. Part number TAA-MBA3-2155-5GB-GA is the TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government ordering option. It includes 3-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials and Advanced plans.

The embedded modem supports 5G NR FR1 in NSA and SA modes, with LTE Advanced Pro Category 20, 4x4 MIMO and peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. It has dual 4FF SIM slots and CBRS Band 48 support for private networks. Carrier certifications cover AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, and public safety certifications include FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified. One 2.5 GbE LAN port on a 380 mm flat cable carries the connection into the vehicle.

The R2155 can run as a self-contained 5G router, or as a captive modem with supported Cradlepoint controlling routers. In captive mode, NetCloud Manager manages both devices as a single entity and needs no separate licence. It draws 10 W typical, and can be powered from 9–36 VDC with ignition sensing or from 802.3at PoE, so one cable can carry both power and data.

The housing is rated IP67 and IK09, resists salt-mist corrosion and meets MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration requirements. The 3-year plans include NetCloud Manager, software updates, 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active. Does the R2155 have Wi-Fi?

No. The R2155 is the non-Wi-Fi R2100 model and delivers its connection over one 2.5 GbE port. Choose the R2105 if you need built-in Wi-Fi 6.

Does this include a SIM card or power supply?

No. The router has dual 4FF SIM slots, but no SIM card is included, and no AC power supply is included. It runs on 9–36 VDC through its 380 mm cable, or on 802.3at PoE.
