Overview

The Cradlepoint S400 is a compact, semi-ruggedized, cloud-managed LTE router for IoT, kiosk, digital signage and light-industrial deployments. This TAA-compliant North America SKU (TAA-TBV3-0400-C6-NA-N) includes the Wi-Fi-equipped S400, 3-year NetCloud IoT Essentials and Advanced plans, an AC power supply and antennas. It has an embedded Cat 6 LTE modem with dual SIM slots, 802.11ac Wi-Fi 5, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, an expansion slot and passive GNSS.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint S400 is a cloud-managed, semi-ruggedized router and secure appliance for IoT networks. It combines LTE with wired and Wi-Fi connectivity for light-industrial sites, digital signage and kiosks. This package is the TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government ordering option. It includes the Wi-Fi model of the router, both the NetCloud IoT Essentials and Advanced plans for three years, an AC power supply and antennas.

The embedded Cat 6 LTE modem (3GPP Rel. 11) delivers 300 Mbps peak download and 50 Mbps upload. It supports 2x2 MIMO, downlink carrier aggregation and dual 4FF SIM slots with SIM-based auto-carrier selection. The North America modem covers bands including B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B66 and B71, plus CBRS Band 48 for private LTE. The manufacturer lists AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon operator certifications.

The built-in Wi-Fi is a single-radio, dual-band 1x1 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) radio. It operates on 2.4 GHz (150 Mbps) or 5 GHz (433 Mbps), non-concurrently, and supports WPA3 Personal and Enterprise, 802.11k and 802.11v. Wired connectivity includes one Gigabit Ethernet port (LAN/WAN selectable) and a USB 2.0 port. An expansion slot accepts serial DB-9, dual Fast Ethernet or GPIO modules. Passive GNSS supports GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BDS.

The S400 runs from 9–33 VDC or 802.3af PoE and operates from -20 °C to 60 °C. It meets MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration methods and Class I Div 2 hazardous-location certification. NetCloud Manager provides fleet management, group policies, software updates and zero-trust connect-and-go security. Support runs for the full three-year term, and the limited lifetime hardware warranty applies while the subscription is active.
