Overview

The FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G is a fanless, DIN-rail next-generation firewall with an embedded 5G modem, built for industrial and OT networks. This bundle (FGR-70G-5G-BDL-950-12) pairs the hardware with a 1-year (12-month) FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection (UTP) subscription. It combines 6 GE RJ45 ports, 2 SFP slots, a bypass port pair, dual SIM slots, passive GPS and redundant 12V to 125V DC inputs. It is rated for -40°C to 75°C operation.

The Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G is an industrially rugged next-generation firewall for operational technology, utility, transport and remote industrial sites. It is a DIN-rail, fanless, IP40 indoor appliance that operates from -40°C to 75°C. It runs FortiOS on Fortinet's FortiSP5 secure processor. This SKU includes the hardware plus a 1-year FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection (UTP) subscription.

Connectivity is built for sites where wired WAN is unreliable or unavailable. An embedded Telit Cinterion FN990A28-HP 5G modem has 2 SIM slots (Active/Passive). It ships with 4 external SMA WWAN antennas and 1 external SMA GPS antenna. The modem covers a broad set of 5G NR and LTE bands, including n41, n71 and n77. It is certified by PTCRB, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, and it is FirstNet Capable (5G). On the wired side, the unit provides: - 4 GE RJ45 LAN ports and 2 GE RJ45 WAN ports - A GE bypass pair between PORT1 and PORT2 - 2 SFP slots - RJ45 serial and console ports, 1 USB-A 2.0 port and a MicroSD slot - A digital I/O module

Security and routing capacity is rated at up to: - 8 Gbps IPv4 firewall throughput - 2.5 Gbps IPS - 1.5 Gbps NGFW - 1.3 Gbps threat protection - 7.1 Gbps IPsec VPN

Built-in Secure SD-WAN is also included. The UTP bundle adds these FortiGuard services: - IPS - Anti-malware with FortiGate Cloud Sandbox - URL, DNS and video filtering - Anti-spam - Application control - Inline CASB

The hardware carries certifications for harsh settings: IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 for the electric power industry, EN 50155 for rolling stock, and DNV Type Approval for maritime use. Power comes from redundant dual 12V to 125V DC inputs, with average consumption of 16 W.
