Overview

The Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G (FGR-70G-5G) is a fanless, DIN-rail next-generation firewall with an embedded 5G modem for industrial, OT, rail and maritime networks. It is powered by the FortiSP5 processor and rated up to 8 Gbps firewall, 7.1 Gbps IPsec VPN, 2.5 Gbps IPS and 1.5 Gbps NGFW throughput. It pairs six GE RJ45 ports and two SFP slots with dual Active/Passive SIMs, passive GPS and redundant 12V to 125V DC inputs.

The FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G is Fortinet's rugged next-generation firewall with built-in 5G WAN. It suits utilities, transportation, maritime and industrial operators that need enterprise security at sites without reliable wired connections. The fanless IP40 chassis mounts on a DIN rail and operates from -40°C to 75°C. It holds these certifications: - IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 (electric power) - EN 50155 (rolling stock) - IEC 60945, IACS UR E10 and DNV Type Approval (maritime)

The embedded Telit Cinterion FN990A28-HP modem supports a wide set of 5G NR bands, including n41, n71, n77, n78 and n79, plus 31 LTE bands. It has MIMO and diversity, two Active/Passive SIM slots and four external SMA WWAN antennas. The modem is PTCRB certified, carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon approvals, and is FirstNet Capable (5G). T-Mobile T-Priority and Verizon Frontline certification are in progress.

On the wired side, the appliance has six GE RJ45 ports (four LAN, two WAN), a PORT1-PORT2 bypass pair and two dedicated GE SFP slots. Other hardware includes: - RJ45 serial and console ports - USB-A 2.0 and MicroSD - Bluetooth Low Energy - A Trusted Platform Module - A digital I/O module - Passive GPS with its own SMA antenna

Fortinet's FortiSP5 processor and FortiOS deliver up to 8 Gbps firewall throughput at 5.82 μs latency and 7.1 Gbps IPsec VPN. Security throughput reaches 2.5 Gbps IPS, 1.5 Gbps NGFW and 1.3 Gbps threat protection, with 1.4M concurrent sessions and 85,000 new sessions per second. Built-in Secure SD-WAN and support for up to 96 FortiAPs and 24 FortiSwitches let one unit secure and manage the whole remote site.
