Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G Industrial Security Appliance with 5G WAN

The Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G (FGR-70G-5G) is a ruggedized next-generation firewall engineered for the environments where networks are hardest to protect: plant floors, control cabinets, transportation infrastructure, and remote field sites. A larger rugged platform than the 60G line, the 70G-5G adds dedicated serial data and console ports alongside its 4x GE LAN, bypass pair, 2x GE WAN, and dual SFP slots. Connectivity starts with the embedded 5G cellular wireless WAN module, provisioned through Active/Passive dual SIM SIM slots and driven by 4x external SMA WWAN antennas for reliable signal in challenging RF environments. Use 5G as a rapid-deploy primary WAN, or as a diverse backup path that keeps industrial sites online when wired circuits fail. Wired networking covers 4x GE RJ45 LAN ports, a GE bypass port pair, 2x GE RJ45 WAN ports, and 2x SFP slots, and the hardware bypass capability keeps inline traffic flowing even if the appliance loses power — a requirement for many industrial and safety-adjacent links. Passive GPS with external SMA antenna adds location awareness for distributed or mobile assets, and dedicated RJ45 serial data and console ports, USB port, and MicroSD card slot round out serviceability. Because it runs FortiOS, the appliance brings the full Fortinet Security Fabric to the edge: application-aware firewalling, VPN, SD-WAN capability, and support for FortiGuard subscription services (sold separately or via BDL SKUs) covering IPS, anti-malware, web/DNS filtering, and OT-aware protections.
