Overview

The FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G is a fanless, DIN-rail next-generation firewall for industrial and OT networks. It has an embedded 5G modem with two Active/Passive SIM slots, passive GPS, six GE RJ45 interfaces, two SFP slots and a bypass port pair. The FortiSP5 processor delivers up to 8 Gbps firewall and 1.3 Gbps threat protection throughput. It runs from redundant 12V to 125V DC inputs and operates from -40°C to 75°C. This bundle, FGR-70G-5G-BDL-950-60, includes five years (60 months) of FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection.

The Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G is an industrially rugged next-generation firewall for operational technology, utility, transport and remote industrial sites. Office-class appliances are not built for those conditions. This one has a fanless IP40 enclosure that mounts on a DIN rail. It operates from -40°F to 167°F (-40°C to 75°C) in 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity and at altitudes up to 10,000 ft. It holds IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 certification for electric power environments, EN 50155 certification for rolling stock, and IEC 60945 and DNV Type Approval for maritime use.

Connectivity is built in. The embedded Telit Cinterion FN990A28-HP 5G modem has two Active/Passive SIM slots, four external SMA WWAN antennas and a passive GPS antenna. The modem is listed for all regions, and the unit is carrier-certified for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, with PTCRB certification. It is FirstNet Capable (5G). On the wired side, there are six GE RJ45 interfaces (four LAN and two WAN), a bypass pair between PORT1 and PORT2, and two SFP slots. You also get RJ45 serial and console ports, a USB-A 2.0 port, a MicroSD slot, a Digital I/O module, Bluetooth Low Energy and a TPM.

The FortiSP5 secure processor and FortiOS deliver the following throughput: • Firewall: up to 8 Gbps • IPsec VPN: 7.1 Gbps • IPS: 2.5 Gbps • NGFW: 1.5 Gbps • Threat protection: 1.3 Gbps

It supports 1.4 million concurrent sessions and has Secure SD-WAN built in. It can also manage up to 24 FortiSwitches and 96 FortiAPs.

This SKU pairs the hardware with a 5-year FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection term. The term covers: • IPS • Anti-malware with FortiGate Cloud Sandbox • URL, DNS and video filtering • Anti-spam • Application control • Inline CASB
