Overview

The Fortinet FortiGate 50G-5G (FG-50G-5G-BDL-950-60) is a fanless desktop next-generation firewall with an embedded Telit Cinterion 5G modem, two nano SIM slots and five GE RJ45 ports. This bundle includes 5 years (60 months) of FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection. The appliance combines firewall, SD-WAN, network controller and security for branch and distributed enterprise sites.

The Fortinet FortiGate 50G-5G combines firewall, SD-WAN, network controller and security functions in one compact desktop appliance. An embedded 5G modem gives it cellular WAN. It is built for distributed enterprise sites, retail branches and remote offices that need a cellular primary or backup link without a separate router. This SKU, FG-50G-5G-BDL-950-60, pairs the hardware with a 5-year (60-month) FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection (UTP) subscription.

The 50G family runs FortiOS on Fortinet's SD-WAN-based ASIC with an embedded multi-core processor. Performance figures are all "up to" values: • Firewall throughput: up to 5 Gbps • IPS throughput: 2.25 Gbps • NGFW throughput: 1.25 Gbps • Threat Protection throughput: 1.1 Gbps • IPsec VPN throughput: 4.5 Gbps • Concurrent TCP sessions: 720,000

SD-WAN and the network controller are included in every FortiGate. The unit manages up to 8 FortiSwitches and 16 FortiAPs.

The cellular side uses a Telit Cinterion FN990A28-HP modem. It has two nano SIM slots (active/passive) and five external SMA antenna ports. The modem covers a wide range of 5G NR and LTE bands and is listed for all regions. Its carrier certifications include PTCRB, AT&T and Verizon, and it is FirstNet capable. T-Mobile certification is targeted for Q4 26.

The UTP bundle includes: • IPS • Anti-Malware Protection with FortiGate Cloud Sandbox • URL, DNS and Video Filtering • Anti-Spam • FortiCare Premium
