Overview

The FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G-DUAL is a fanless, DIN-rail next-generation firewall for industrial and OT networks. It carries two embedded 5G modems with active/active SIMs, passive GPS, 6 GE RJ45 ports, 2 SFP slots and a bypass port pair, runs from redundant 12V to 125V DC inputs, and operates from -40°C to 75°C. This bundle (FGR-70G-5G-DUAL-BDL-80960) includes a 5-year FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Enterprise Protection subscription.

The Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G-DUAL is an industrially rugged next-generation firewall built for operational technology sites, substations, rail, maritime and remote field locations where office-grade appliances do not survive. The fanless, IP40, DIN-rail enclosure operates from -40°F to 167°F (-40°C to 75°C), and the unit is certified to IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 for the electric power industry, EN 50155 for rolling stock, and IEC 60945 with DNV Type Approval for maritime use.

Connectivity is built around two embedded Telit Cinterion FN990A28-HP 5G modems with two SIM slots running active/active, eight external SMA WWAN antennas and passive GPS with its own SMA antenna. The modems cover a broad 5G NR and LTE band set, carry PTCRB, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon certification, and support AT&T FirstNet (5G), T-Mobile T-Priority and Verizon Frontline public safety networks. Wired interfaces include 6 GE RJ45 ports (4 LAN, 2 WAN), a PORT1-2 bypass pair, 2 SFP slots, RJ45 serial and console ports, USB-A 2.0, a MicroSD slot and a digital I/O module.

The FortiSP5 secure processor delivers up to 8 Gbps IPv4 firewall throughput, 7.1 Gbps IPsec VPN, 2.5 Gbps IPS, 1.5 Gbps NGFW and 1.3 Gbps threat protection, with built-in Secure SD-WAN and Active-Active, Active-Passive or clustering high availability.

This bundle adds 60 months of FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Enterprise Protection, covering IPS, anti-malware with FortiGate Cloud Sandbox, URL, DNS and video filtering, application control, inline CASB, data loss prevention, anti-spam, AI-based inline malware prevention and IoT attack surface security. The five-year term suits long-lifecycle industrial deployments. The FortiGate Rugged Series Data Sheet and the 70G-5G-DUAL QuickStart Guide are available as documentation.
