Overview

The Cradlepoint R1900 (MB01-19005GB-GA) is a ruggedized 5G router for vehicles, rail and field operations. It combines an embedded 5G NR FR1 and Cat 20 LTE modem (up to 4.14 Gbps downlink), dual-band Wi-Fi 6, four GbE ports, Bluetooth 5.2 and dead-reckoning GNSS in an IP64 metal chassis. This All Regions package includes a 1-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials plan. It ships without an AC power supply or antennas.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R1900 is a 5G in-vehicle router for public safety, transit, rail and utility fleets that need enterprise networking on the move. Its embedded modem supports 5G NR FR1 in both NSA and SA modes, and it switches automatically to Cat 20 LTE when a vehicle leaves 5G coverage. The modem offers 4x4 MIMO, dual 4FF SIM slots and peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. It carries AT&T, EE, Telstra, T-Mobile and Verizon certifications, plus FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes, Verizon Frontline Verified and ESN (4G) public safety certifications.

Inside the vehicle, dual-band 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 serves up to about 100 typical clients. Four GbE LAN/WAN ports connect cameras and onboard systems, and embedded Bluetooth LE 5.2, USB, RS-232 and GPIO handle integrations. The optional RX30 managed accessories add either four 802.3bt PoE ports or four GbE ports with a second modular modem for dual-carrier connectivity. A quad-core ARMv8 CPU runs Docker containers at the edge. Discrete active GNSS with dead reckoning supports Automatic Vehicle Location.

The R1900 is built for harsh installs. It has an IP64 rating, a -30 °C to 75 °C operating range and 9–36 VDC input with ignition sensing. Certifications include MIL-STD-810G, E-Mark, SAE J1455, EN 50155, EN 45545-2, NFPA 130 and Class I Div 2. The included 1-year Essentials plan provides NetCloud Manager, software updates, 24x7 support and the limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active. The NetCloud Advanced plan can be added at any time for threat management, web filtering, analytics and coverage maps. Antennas and an AC power supply are sold separately.

Are antennas and a power supply included?

No. This configuration ships without an AC power supply or antennas. The router has four SMA cellular connectors, two RP-SMA Wi-Fi connectors, one RP-SMA Bluetooth connector and one SMA GNSS connector for the antennas you choose.

Does the R1900 have built-in PoE?

PoE comes from the optional RX30-PoE managed accessory. It adds four 802.3bt Type 3 ports with up to 60 W per port and a 60 W total budget.
