Overview

The Cradlepoint R1900 is a ruggedized 5G router built for persistent in-vehicle connectivity. This TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government SKU (TAA-MBA3-19005GB-GA) bundles the R1900 with 3-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials and Advanced plans. It pairs an embedded 5G NR / Cat 20 LTE modem with dual 4FF SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, four switchable Gigabit Ethernet ports, discrete GNSS with dead reckoning, and IP64, MIL-STD-810G and rail certifications. The AC power supply and antennas are not included.

The Cradlepoint R1900 is Ericsson's ruggedized 5G platform for in-vehicle networks. It suits public safety fleets, transit agencies and field-operations teams that need a single device to connect everything in the vehicle. Part number TAA-MBA3-19005GB-GA is the TAA-compliant ordering option for the U.S. Federal Government. It pairs the router with a 3-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials package and the Advanced plan.

The embedded modem supports 5G NR FR1 in NSA and SA modes, with LTE Advanced Pro Category 20 fallback, 4x4 MIMO and peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. Dual 4FF SIM slots, CBRS Band 48 support and carrier certifications for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon cover commercial and private networks. The modem also carries FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified public safety certifications. Inside the vehicle, the router provides 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6, four GbE LAN/WAN ports, Bluetooth 5.2, USB, RS-232 serial and GPIO. The optional RX30 accessories add four PoE ports, or four GbE ports and a second modem for dual-carrier connectivity.

The R1900 runs on 9–36 VDC with ignition sensing and ISO 7637-2 transient protection. It carries an IP64 rating and MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration testing, plus E-Mark, EN 50155 and NFPA 130 certifications and Class I Div 2 approval for hazardous locations. A quad-core ARMv8 processor runs Docker containers at the edge. Firewall throughput is rated at 940 Mbps, with 20 concurrent VPN tunnels.

The Essentials package includes NetCloud Manager, software updates, 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty for the subscription term. The Advanced plan adds threat management, web filtering, application visibility, analytics, location tracking and cellular coverage maps. Antennas and AC power supply are sold separately. Are antennas and a power supply included?

No. This configuration ships without an AC power supply or antennas. The R1900 has 4 SMA cellular connectors, 2 RP-SMA Wi-Fi connectors, 1 RP-SMA Bluetooth connector and 1 SMA GNSS connector. It runs on 9–36 VDC through a 4-pin Molex micro-fit connector.

What does the Advanced plan add to Essentials?

The Advanced Mobile Performance plan adds threat management, web filtering, application visibility and analytics. It also adds advanced GNSS functions, including location tracking and cellular coverage maps.

What support and warranty come with the 3-year term?

Essentials includes 24x7 support: phone support 24 hours on weekdays with weekend emergency response, web 24x7 and chat 24x5. It also includes NetCloud Manager, software updates and a limited lifetime warranty while the NetCloud subscription is active.

Can the R1900 use two carriers at once?

The embedded modem has dual 4FF SIM slots. For simultaneous dual-carrier connectivity, add the optional RX30-MC accessory, which provides a second modular modem slot and four GbE ports.

Is this SKU FIPS certified?

No. This is the TAA-compliant federal SKU. FIPS 140-3 Level 1 (in process) applies only to the R1900 FIPS models.
