Overview

The Cradlepoint R1900 (TAA-MBA1-19005GB-GA) is a ruggedized metal 5G router for in-vehicle networks. It is sold as a TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government ordering option and includes a 1-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials + Advanced plan. The router has an embedded 5G NR and LTE Category 20 modem, dual 4FF SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, four switchable Gigabit Ethernet ports, Bluetooth 5.2 and discrete GNSS with dead reckoning. It is rated IP64 and carries vehicle, rail and Class I Div 2 certifications. The AC power supply and antennas are not included.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R1900 is a ruggedized 5G networking platform built to keep vehicles connected. Police and fire fleets, transit agencies, utilities and federal field teams use it to link laptops, cameras, sensors and telematics in the vehicle to a single cloud-managed router. This SKU (TAA-MBA1-19005GB-GA) is the TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government ordering option. It bundles the R1900 5G router with Wi-Fi and 4FF SIM support with a 1-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials + Advanced plan. It ships without an AC power supply or antennas.

The embedded modem supports 5G FR1 in NSA and SA modes and LTE Advanced Pro Category 20. It has 4x4 MIMO, dual SIM slots and peak rates of up to 4.14 Gbps downlink and 660 Mbps uplink. When the vehicle leaves 5G coverage, the router switches to Cat 20 LTE automatically. The modem holds FirstNet Trusted, Verizon Frontline Verified and T-Mobile Connecting Heroes public safety certifications, and it supports CBRS Band 48 for private cellular networks. In-cab devices connect over 2x2 MU-MIMO dual-band Wi-Fi 6, four GbE LAN/WAN ports, USB, RS-232 serial, GPIO and Bluetooth LE 5.2.

The R1900 is designed for harsh environments. It is rated IP64 and operates from -30 °C to 75 °C on 9–36 VDC power. It has ISO 7637-2 transient protection, ignition sensing, MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration certification, E-Mark, EN 50155 rail certification and Class I Div 2 hazardous-location certification. Discrete GNSS with dead reckoning feeds Automatic Vehicle Location systems. A quad-core ARMv8 CPU runs Docker containers at the edge.

The Essentials package covers NetCloud Manager device management, software updates, 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty for the full subscription term. The Advanced plan adds threat management, web filtering, application visibility, analytics, location tracking and cellular coverage maps. The optional RX30-MC accessory adds a second modem, and the optional RX30-POE adds four PoE ports.
