Overview

This TAA-compliant FIPS configuration of the Cradlepoint R1900 is built for U.S. Federal Government in-vehicle deployments. The ruggedized, IP64-rated 5G router has an embedded 5G NR / LTE Category 20 modem with dual SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, four switchable GbE ports, and discrete GNSS with dead reckoning. It ships with 3 years of Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials plus the Advanced Plan, which covers cloud management, support and advanced security. The SKU includes no AC power supply, antennas or SIM.

The Cradlepoint R1900 is a ruggedized 5G networking platform for vehicles and field fleets. This part, TAA-MBA3-19005GB-FA, is the TAA-compliant FIPS SKU for the United States Federal Government. It is bundled with a 3-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials package and the Advanced Plan. The embedded 5G FR1 modem supports NSA and SA and has dual 4FF SIM slots. When a vehicle leaves 5G coverage, the router automatically connects to LTE Advanced Pro Category 20, with peak rates of up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. The modem carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon operator certifications, and it is FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified for public safety.

Inside the vehicle, the R1900 provides dual-band, dual-concurrent 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 and four GbE ports that can each be set to LAN or WAN. It also has Bluetooth 5.2, USB, RS-232 serial and GPIO. The discrete GNSS receiver tracks GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou and adds dead reckoning for Automatic Vehicle Location integration. The quad-core ARMv8 platform runs Docker containerized applications at the edge. The optional RX30 accessories add either four PoE ports or four GbE ports plus a second modem for dual-carrier connectivity.

The R1900 is designed for harsh installations. It accepts 9-36 VDC input with ignition sensing and ISO 7637-2 protection, operates from -30 °C to 75 °C, and holds E-Mark, SAE J1455, EN 50155, MIL-STD-810G, NFPA 130 and Class I Div 2 certifications. This FIPS model has a FIPS 140-3 Level 1 module in process.

The Essentials package includes NetCloud Manager management and software updates, 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty for the full subscription term. The Advanced Plan adds threat management, web filtering, application visibility, analytics, location tracking and cellular coverage maps.
