Overview

The Cradlepoint R1900 is a ruggedized 5G router built for vehicles, bundled here with a 1-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials plan in a TAA-compliant SKU for U.S. Federal Government ordering. It pairs an embedded 5G NR FR1 and LTE Category 20 modem with dual 4FF SIM slots, 2x2 Wi-Fi 6, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, discrete GNSS with dead reckoning and an IP64 metal chassis. Cloud management, software updates and 24x7 support are included for the term. Antennas and an AC power supply are not included.

The Cradlepoint R1900 is Ericsson's ruggedized 5G networking platform for in-vehicle deployments. This SKU, TAA-MB01-19005GB-GA, is the TAA-compliant U.S. Federal Government ordering option. It combines R1900 hardware (5G with Wi-Fi and 4FF SIM, no AC power supply or antennas) with a 1-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials plan. It suits public safety, transit, utility and field-service fleets that need persistent connectivity and centralized IT control.

The embedded modem supports 5G NR FR1 in NSA and SA modes and falls back to LTE Advanced Pro Category 20 when a vehicle leaves 5G coverage. Peak rates are up to 4.14 Gbps downlink and 660 Mbps uplink, with 4x4 MIMO and dual SIM slots. It carries operator certifications for AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, EE and Telstra. Public safety certifications are FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes, Verizon Frontline Verified and ESN (4G). CBRS Band 48 private cellular is supported. Inside the vehicle, dual-band 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6, four GbE LAN/WAN switchable ports, Bluetooth LE 5.2, USB, RS-232 serial and GPIO connect cameras, laptops, sensors and telematics.

The R1900 is built for harsh duty. It has an IP64 metal chassis and a -30 °C to 75 °C operating range, plus 9–36 VDC input with ignition sensing and ISO 7637-2 transient protection. It carries E-Mark, SAE J1455, EN 50155 rail, MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration, and Class I Div 2 certifications. Discrete GNSS with dead reckoning feeds Automatic Vehicle Location systems. A quad-core ARMv8 CPU runs Docker containerized applications at the edge.

The Essentials plan includes NetCloud Manager device management and software updates for the full term. Support is 24x7, and the hardware carries a limited lifetime warranty while an active NetCloud plan is maintained. For more capability, you can add an Advanced plan at any time, and the optional RX30 accessories expand the router with PoE ports or a second modem.
