Overview

The Cradlepoint R2105 (TAA-MBA5-2105-5GB-GA) is an exterior-mounted 5G ruggedized router for vehicles and IoT enclosures, bundled with a 5-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials + Advanced plan. It integrates a 5G NR FR1 and Cat 20 LTE modem, four internal cellular antennas, passive GNSS and 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 in one IP67, IK09 housing. It is powered by 9–36 VDC or 802.3at PoE and needs no coax runs. This TAA-compliant SKU is configured for U.S. Federal Government ordering.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2105 is a 5G ruggedized router designed for mass transit, public safety and IoT deployments. It mounts on a vehicle roof or an IoT cabinet enclosure and houses the modem, antennas and router in one aerodynamic polycarbonate casing. The embedded 5G NR FR1 NSA/SA and LTE Advanced Pro Category 20 modem supports dual 4FF SIM slots, 4x4 MIMO and peak rates of up to 4.14 Gbps downlink and 660 Mbps uplink. The modem carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon certifications, along with FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified public safety certifications. It also supports CBRS Band 48 for private cellular networks.

You can deploy the R2105 as a self-contained router with dual-band, dual-radio 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 and a 2.5 GbE LAN port. It can also serve as a captive 5G modem for supported Cradlepoint controlling routers. In captive mode, NetCloud Manager treats the R2105 as an internal modem, so it does not need a separate license. Power comes from a 9–36 VDC input with ignition sensing or from 802.3at PoE over a single Ethernet run.

The housing is rated IP67 and IK09 and meets MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration procedures. It also resists salt-mist corrosion and operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. A quad-core ARMv8 processor runs Docker containerized applications at the edge.

This SKU includes 5 years of NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials plus the Advanced plan. Coverage includes NetCloud Manager, software and firmware updates, 24x7 support and Enterprise Wireless University access. Hardware carries a limited lifetime warranty for as long as an active NetCloud subscription is maintained. The Advanced plan adds GNSS-based location history and cellular coverage mapping. The router ships without an AC power supply or SIM card.
