Overview

The Cradlepoint R2105 combines an embedded 5G NR and Cat 20 LTE modem, four internal cellular antennas, passive GNSS and a Wi-Fi 6 router in one IP67, IK09 housing. It is built for exterior mounting on vehicles and IoT cabinets. This TAA-compliant part number for U.S. federal government ordering bundles a 5-year NetCloud Ruggedized IoT Essentials + Advanced subscription. It runs on 9–36 VDC or 802.3at PoE. A SIM card and AC power supply are not included.

The Cradlepoint R2105 is the Wi-Fi-equipped model of the Ericsson Cradlepoint R2100 Series, a 5G ruggedized router designed for vehicle and IoT deployments. It combines an embedded 5G NR FR1 and LTE Category 20 modem, four internal cellular antennas, passive GNSS and a dual-band 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 router in one aerodynamic polycarbonate housing. The housing mounts on a vehicle roof or an IoT cabinet enclosure. Because the antennas are integrated, there are no coax cable runs to route.

The housing is rated IP67 for dust and water immersion to 1 meter and IK09 for impact. It has been tested to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration procedures and carries E-Mark and SAE J1455 Category 2 vehicle certifications. It operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. You can power it from 9–36 VDC with ignition sensing or from an 802.3at PoE source, and data runs over the 2.5 GbE LAN port. The R2105 works as a self-contained router. It can also act as a captive 5G modem for a supported Cradlepoint controlling router. In that mode, NetCloud Manager treats it as an internal modem, so no separate licence is required.

The modem supports 5G NSA and SA with 4x4 MIMO and peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps downlink and 660 Mbps uplink. It has dual 4FF SIM slots and CBRS Band 48 for private cellular networks. Public safety certifications include FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified.

This TAA-compliant part number (TAA-TCA5-2105-5GB-GA) is the U.S. federal government ordering option. It bundles five years of NetCloud Ruggedized IoT Essentials plus the NetCloud Advanced plan. Coverage includes cloud management and software updates through NetCloud Manager, 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active. A SIM card and AC power supply are not included.
