Overview

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2105 is an exterior-mounted 5G router that integrates the modem, antennas and Wi-Fi 6 router in one IP67, IK09-rated housing for vehicle roofs and IoT enclosures. This all-regions package, TC03-2105-5GB-GA, includes a 3-year NetCloud Ruggedized IoT Essentials plan. It combines 5G NR sub-6 GHz (NSA and SA) with LTE Cat 20, peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps down, a 2.5 GbE port and power from 9–36 VDC or 802.3at PoE. SIM and AC power supply are not included.

The Cradlepoint R2105, part of the Ericsson Cradlepoint R2100 series, is a 5G ruggedized router designed to be mounted on the roof of a vehicle or attached to an IoT cabinet. It combines the modem, four internal cellular antennas and a Wi-Fi 6 router in a single aerodynamic polycarbonate housing, so installation requires no coax runs. This all-regions SKU bundles the hardware with a 3-year NetCloud Ruggedized IoT Essentials plan; a 4FF SIM and AC power supply are not included.

The embedded modem supports 5G NR FR1 in both NSA and SA modes, including n41, n71, n77 and n48, alongside LTE Advanced Pro Category 20 with up to 7 downlink carriers. With 4x4 MIMO, peak rates reach up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. Dual SIM slots, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon certification, and FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified public safety certifications support demanding fleet deployments, and CBRS Band 48 support enables private LTE and 5G networks.

A single 2.5 GbE LAN port on a non-removable shielded flat cable carries data and can also power the unit via 802.3at PoE; alternatively it runs on 9–36 VDC with ignition sensing. The R2105 can serve as a self-contained router with dual-band 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6, or as a captive 5G modem for supported Cradlepoint routers, managed in NetCloud Manager as a single entity without a separate license. Ruggedness includes IP67, IK09 impact protection, salt-mist corrosion resistance, MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration, and E-Mark and SAE J1455 vehicle certification.

The Essentials plan provides NetCloud Manager management and software updates for the full term, 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active. A quad-core 64-bit ARM CPU runs Docker containerized applications. A Cradlepoint R2100 datasheet is available.

No. This configuration ships with integrated antennas but without an AC power supply or SIM. It is powered from 9–36 VDC through its DC cable or by an 802.3at PoE source, and accepts 4FF SIMs in its dual SIM slots.
